WEEK 5 – My Character

This week, I took a bit of a detour from the collaborative projects you’ll see in the final showreel (stay tuned for that!). I felt the urge to unleash my inner monster maker, so I dove headfirst into character creation with Blender!

This week, I put it to the test by building the monster that I needed for the project, let’s just say a very unique creature. Imagine a grumpy green fellow with not two, but THREE eyes! 
I modelled it and also rigged it to that export it in Maya

I also wanted to add different poses for the mouth in order to animate them later. to do that I decided to model different poses for the lips so I could change them as he changed his expression.

This project was a blast from start to finish. It allowed me to explore the world of character design and animation in a more independent way. It was a fun challenge to bring this wacky monster to life, from sculpting its green exterior in Blender to setting up its rig for potential animation down the line.
