WEEK 8 – Feedback
This week, George focused on critiquing our initial previsualization shots, signalling the end of the lessons for the remainder of the term. Throughout the week, I continued refining my previsualization shots, completing all the animation work so that George could provide feedback on my work during the critique session.
He noted that the latter part of the animation showed improvement compared to the first part. However, he suggested a few adjustments regarding the camera angles and the monster’s movements within the car after encountering Death. Additionally, he recommended refining the UFO animation for enhanced realism.
Moving on to the critique of the first part of the animation, George suggested adjustments to the initial establishing shot, proposing a rotational movement from the sky to the supermarket entrance without any zoom. He advised maintaining the monster on the left side of the screen to create tension, positioning Death and her pet on the right side. Furthermore, he proposed expanding a scene to focus more on Death waking up, possibly depicting her living in a modest shack to imply a regular job. Adjustments were also recommended for the parking lot scene and the sequence where the monster enters the car.
Looking ahead, I’m tasked with creating biographies for the characters to deepen my understanding of them. Additionally, I plan to search for suitable music to complement and enhance the mood of my animation for the upcoming week.
