3. Environment – Parking lot and Town

The next phase of my 3D animation project was designing and modelling the environment. Since the story revolves around a quirky, spooky town, it was essential to create a setting that felt cohesive yet stylized, I wanted to craft a town that felt colourful, and alive. I chose a low-poly aesthetic to keep the look simple yet visually engaging, in line with the cartoonish tone of the animation.

I began with the shopping centre, a key location in the story. The design is simple and stylized to match the low-poly aesthetic I envisioned. I added a parking lot in front, filling it with ten unique car models in various bright colours, giving the scene a playful vibrancy.

Next, I incorporated other details to enrich the world: bushes (which originally started green but evolved into an eye-catching orange), trees, and stylized street lamps. Gradually, I expanded the scene to resemble a small town, complete with houses, shops, and streets. The roads were detailed with traffic lights, signals, and more street lamps to bring the town to life.

To add a dynamic touch, I animated some of the cars, making them move along the streets. These small details brought the environment to life, creating a vibrant, bustling atmosphere. This stage of the project allowed me to establish the quirky tone and mood of the world, making it an integral part of the story.
